Letterpress printing converted coffee bags, in our opinion, is one of the great challenges of contemporary letterpress printing. Given the multiple layers of paper, folds, gussets, and voids, this job is simply one of the most technically difficult we’ve yet encountered. This design was additionally challenging, as it had competing inking requirements, including large solids with reversed type, slender linework, and a variety of type thicknesses. We printed these double-sided bags for Lincoln Young at Swell Creative in Denver, who used them as promotional teasers to generate interest in SC’s graphic design services.
